Affordable Architecture For the Future

OH House by Atelier Tekuto

This unique home was designed by the firm Atelier Tekuto and Japanese architect Yasuhiro Yamashita, it lies on a very irregularly site located 4 feet below the main road in which in faces. The main concepts driving the project where to maximize the ability of the site to house 6 of Mr. OH’s family members comfortably. The open plan revolves around access to natural light and circulation around suspended furniture pieces. Lying 4 feet below ground created an issue dealing with the storage of the families cars and the main entrance to the home. Yasuhiro devised a plan to suspend the car on a steel grate over the underground level which allowed the filtration of light when the cars where not present.
